In Utsunomiya, the Kawazu cherry blossoms begin to bloom in late February, and the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms begin to bloom in late March. There are several famous cherry blossom viewing spots, such as Hachimanyama Park, the Shinkawa cherry blossom avenue, and the Nikko-kaido Road cherry blossom trail. Come visit and enjoy the view!

The “2023 Japan Cup Cycle Road Race in Utsunomiya” will be held in Utsunomiya City on October 13th (Fri), 14th (Sat) and 15th (Sun).
This year marks the 30th anniversary, and a variety of events will be held to liven things up! This 3-day Japan Cup is an annual bicycle festival that is the pride of the “Bicycle City Utsunomiya,” where not only races, but also various events will be held. This is a real road race where you can see the serious competition of the world’s top cyclists up close. Please come and check it out!

The Furusato Miya Festival will be held on August 5 (Sat) and 6 (Sun) on the main street and surrounding streets of central Utsunomiya City.
There will be lots of unique Japanese culture and events, including mikoshi (portable shrine) procession, a musical performance by a hayashi, Japanese drums, Odori dancing, Yosakoi dancing, and more!
On August 6 (Sun), festival-goers can try carrying the mikoshi shrine.
Come check it out the festivities at Bamba Plaza and Orion Square (subvenues) from 12 pm, and the main event on the main street from 4:30 pm.
